Perkins has been represented on the Zugspitze for more than 20 years. With a 3012 engine and two 2806 engines, Perkins ensures the emergency power supply and peak saving for the Zugspitze. The Zugspitze is the highest mountain peak in the Federal Republic of Germany, at 2962 meters above sea level. It is located south-west of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria and in the north of Tyrol.
The border between Germany and Austria runs over its western summit, with the Zugspitze receiving up to 4,000 visitors every day. Edel GmbH chose a Perkins 2806A-E18TAG2 from BU Power Systems Germany in January 2011,
which has been used on the Zugspitze ever since. BU Power Systems Germany is proud of its long-standing business
relationship with Edel GmbH, which specialises in emergency power technology.
“We have a very good, trustworthy customer contact with Edel GmbH and can well imagine other projects for the electric power supply of the Zugspitze.” says Peter Wagner, general sales manager at BU Power Systems Germany.
